9.11
Five years have passed since the awful events of 9/11 (I hesitate to merely
call them “terrorism”). The world since then has only fallen deeper into
ruin. I wonder how much longer the pain of birthing a new era must last?
I was in L.A. the other day and saw “An Inconvenient Truth,” a really great
film (Check out http://www.climatecrisis.net/ and http://www.futsugou.jp/).
You could really feel the love that Al Gore has for this planet, which he has
devoted over half his life to. The movie was full of a message that is more
pertinent and important now than ever. I wonder how the world would be
different today if Gore had become president instead of Bush (whose win was
suspicious at best). I can’t help but feel that before everyone wakes up to
the truth, the world must plunge into ruin and then pull itself up again. Al
Gore is an amazing man, and I hope that one day he’s able to take his
rightful place as one of the leaders of the world.
Also, the other day I was able to talk with Taro Kono of the Liberal
Democratic Party. Sadly, he’s abandoned his plans of running for Prime
Minister, but he too is an amazing man. I bet that the political world full
of lies and corruption is a hard place to be for someone whose feelings
towards the planet and society are as pure as Kono’s. I believe with all my
heart that it’s important to have politicians like him who have the courage
to break free from the status quo and to speak the truth. The world is
blessed for having people like Al Gore and Taro Kono in it.
On an unrelated note, I’ve been unbelievable busy lately. I played a
spiritual event in Kobe called DISCOVER at the end of August, and at a peace
gathering at Meiji Park this month called BE-IN. Today was the Rainbow
Festival in Hakusan, Ishikawa Prefecture, and this weekend is the Sky
Festival in Kyoto. I’m really happy to be a part of all these great parties
that focus on speading a message of peace and light and to be able to meet
all the wonderful people that go to them. I pray that this wave of energy can
reach all the people of the earth.
