Rokkasho: A message to the Earth 24,000 years from now (Jan 09)


Happy New Year! Together, let's make this next year a universally beautifully
one.

It's a bit early in the New Year for such things, but I'd like to make an
announcement: "Rokkasho: A message to the Earth 24,000 years from now,"
a book that's been in the works for over a year, was published on December
18th. It's about the problems surrounding the nuclear fuel reprocessing plant
in Rokkasho-mura, Aomori Prefecture,
an issue that everyone reading this diary is already aware of.

I've been involved in this issue for the past few years, and the
authoritative introduction to this problem is finally complete.
It's a book crammed full of important information to tell people of the huge
dangers that aren't yet very well known throughout the world.
This book facilitates learning by presenting the essential knowledge of
specialists in environmental and nuclear issues and the Rokkasho issue in an
easy to understand format.
In addition, many well-known artists also help to discuss the reality of
Rokkasho and its future possibility.
Featuring lots of photos, illustrations, and visuals, the book's message is
definitely a "pop" one.

I conducted interviews, and my friend Tetra helped collect the rare true
feelings and thoughts of the much-respected Ryuichi Sakamoto, cultural
anthropologist Shinichi Tsuji, and Liberal Democratic Party Lower House
member Taro Kono.
And the data put together by Mika Oobayashi of the Environmental Energy
Research Institute is probably the best introduction to nuclear power that
exists. Even though the book is a short one of not even 130 pages,
it's full of the voices of sympathizers and respected artists, and is a
wonderful creation full of huge significance and possibility.

Anyway, I hope you all take a look and buy as many copies as possible to
spread the word to your family, friends, and lovers.
We can no longer avert our eyes from the truth.
Ignorance is no excuse. Knowledge is the first step towards the future,
and I believe that our awareness and actions from now on will have a huge
effect on the world.

ロッカショ 2万4000年後の地球へのメッセージ

A Happy New Year!!
今年も共に宇宙的に美しく駆け抜けていきましょう。

新年早々申し訳ないですが、宣伝させてね。
先月18日、ここ一年数ヶ月の間取り組み続けてきた書籍、
「ロッカショ　2万4000年後の地球へのメッセージ」
が発刊された。
この日記を読んでくれているみんなには、もう周知の事実だよね、
青森県六ヶ所村の使用済み核燃料再処理工場についての問題。
そしてここ数年間、俺がいかにその問題に関わってきたか。
とにかくロッカショ問題に関する入門書としては決定版となる本を
やっと作り終えることができた。

世の中にほぼアナウンスされていないあまりにも大きな危険性を
人々に知ってもらうための情報を凝縮した重要本。
環境問題、核問題、六ヶ所村問題に高い見識を持つ
専門家の重要な知識をわかりやすく学ぶ事が、知る事ができ、
それらの情報に加えて著名アーティスト達の声が満載された、
六ヶ所村の真実と同時に未来の可能性を伝えていく本。
同時に多量の写真、イラスト、ヴィジュアルを駆使した
ポップなメッセージ本。

俺がインタビュアーとなって、盟友テトラ氏にまとめてもらった
敬愛する坂本龍一氏、文化人類学者の辻信一氏、
自民党衆議院議員の河野太郎氏の、
他ではなかなか目にする事ができない貴重な本音が満載されている。
環境エネルギー研究所の大林ミカさんによる資料ページは、
六ヶ所を、再処理を、原子力を学ぶ入門書としては、
これ以上のものはまだ存在していないのではないか。
他、本当に多くの有志の協力と、
大リスペクトなアーティスト達の清き声に助けられて、
130ページにも満たない、ほんの小さな本だけど
大きな意味と可能性が凝縮した素敵な一冊が完成した。

とにかくみんなに手にとってほしい。
できるだけ沢山購入してほしい。
それを可能な限り広めてほしい。
家族に、友達に、恋人に。

もう真実に目を背けてはいけない。
「無知」は逃げの理由にはならない。
「知ること」は未来への重要な最初の一歩にほかならない。
俺達みんなの気づきとこれからの行動が
世の中に対して重要な意味を持つと信じている。
