G8 Summit


It's been a while since I've written in here, but I've been so busy that I've
barely had any time to myself.

Right now, during the Hokkaido Toyako Summit, I'm really interested in both
the G8 Summit and the Indigenous Peoples Summit that is taking place at the
same time and is headed by AINU REBELS, who I've come to be good friends
with. I really hope that both events can proceed forward positively.

It would be great if all of the leading countries (although I can't help
thinking that not only the G8 developed countries but also countries like
China and India that are in the middle of rapid growth should also be
included) could go beyond borders to discuss global policies and how to
create a world where all races and tribes come together in understanding.

There are so many things that we have to figure out, that I'm concerned
about. Of course one of the most serious problems is global warming. There is
also the nuclear power issue, of which Rokkasho is a good example, and
promoting sustainable new types of energy. Poverty in Africa, AIDS and
medical care, education, disparities in wealth, and the military regime in
Myanmar that is eerily close to the era of Pol Pot… The recent results
regarding the Ainu turned out really well, but there are still so many tribal
issues where we can't even see how to begin solving them in such as those in
Serbia and Albania. Conflict still continues between Israel and Palestine.
And then there's the whaling issue that Greenpeace has made such an example
of.

All of these things are urgent, and the Earth won't wait for a solution. We
should all be equal and joyful. We should all be able to exist in beauty. We
should put aside the old and unnecessary methods of destruction and
deforestation. And it's time to throw away the ways of doing things from the
last century that focused on economies, rights, and gain or loss. We must
graduate from communication that takes place through violence. The boundaries
between countries only exist on maps, and are not printed on the face of the
Earth itself.

I truly hope that the Hokkaido Toyako Summit turns out wonderfully.

久しぶりに書いてます。
ここんとこ本当に忙しくて、ゆっくり自分に向き合える時間も
ほとんどなかったな。。。

ついに始まった洞爺湖サミット、本当にG８が気になっている。
同時に最近仲のいいAINU REBELSのみんながリードしている
先住民族サミットも本当に気になっている。
それぞれが本音とポジティヴな念をもって進んでくれる事を願う。

各国首脳達が（俺的には先進国G８というより、その中に中国やインドなど
急速な成長の中にある国々も参加するべきなのではないか、
と切に思っているんだけど）、それぞれの国のボーダーを超えて、
地球規模の政策をどこまで真剣に願っているのか、
すべての人種、民族が理解し合える世界にどうすれば近づくのか、
とことん議論してくれるといいんだけど。

現在本当に取り組まなければ行けない事、
本当に気になっている事は山積している。
もちろん最重要課題として地球温暖化問題。
六カ所に代表される原子力問題と、
そして持続可能な新たなエネルギー政策の促進。
アフリカの貧困、エイズ（医療）、教育、格差。
カンボジアのポルポト時代を彷彿させるミャンマーの軍事政権。
今回のアイヌに関しては素晴らしい結果になったけれど、
未だ解決の糸口が見えないセルビア、アルバニアを筆頭に幾多の民族問題。
延々と続いているイスラエル、パレスチナ問題。
そしてグリーンピースがやり玉に上げられてしまっている捕鯨問題。
それぞれがもう本当に急務だ。
地球は待ってくれない。
すべての人々が平等に幸福になるべきだ。
すべての命が美しく共存するべきだ。
不必要な殺生、伐採はもう過去のやり方にするべきだ。

そして各国どうしの経済、利権、損得を最重視する前世紀までのやり方を
もう脱ぎ捨てるべきだ。
武力に頼るコミュニケーションを卒業するべきだ。
各国の境界線は地図上だけのものであり、
実際に地球に印刷されているものではないのだから。

洞爺湖サミット、素晴らしい方向へ進むことを願う。
