Josh Powell's energy translating into success for Lakers

It was noteworthy in that it was high praise.

But in many ways, it was deserved, because Josh Powell once again delivered
for the Lakers off the bench.

And this time, when the Lakers were in need because they were short-handed,
Powell came up with 13 points, four rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes
during the Lakers' 114-98 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night
at Staples Center.

這是非常高的讚美，但再次將能量從板凳送出的Josh Powell當之無愧，這次他替人手短

缺的湖人提供13分4籃板和2助攻，幫助湖人擊敗灰熊。

"He's been our most reliable substitute this year off the bench," Lakers
Coach Phil Jackson said.

Powell's eyes lit up when he was told of Jackson's compliment.

"If Jesus said so, I'm with it," Powell said, smiling. "That's PJ, man."

The Lakers were missing both of their seven-footers Friday night. Andrew
Bynum didn't play because of a strained right elbow and Pau Gasol sat out his
sixth consecutive game because of a strained right hamstring.

It meant the Lakers had to turn to Powell to play down low.

He was six for 11 from the field, including one of two from three-point range.

"He's been shooting the ball well," Jackson said. "He's much more comfortable
playing in the offense. He knows the niches he can find, and plays and knows
how to use them well."

失去兩名七呎長人的湖人，需要Powell提供禁區攻擊力，他也適時提供投11中6的命中率

Powell's teammates always mention how he is the energy guy in practice and
they always talk about how hard he plays in workouts. Now that's starting to
translate in the games.

"I'm just staying with it, playing the right way," Powell said. "Especially
defensively, I'm trying to do the right thing, hustling, playing hard,
talking, which they stress often. Sticking with that, man, and playing hard
and everything else is coming."

Powell is much more comfortable with his teammates this season, his second
with the Lakers.

隊友們都知道Powell在練習時是多麼的充滿能量且努力，現在是時候將這個能量在比賽時

爆發出來了。

Powell：「我正在學習如何用正確的方式打球，特別是在防守端，我試著做對且幹髒活，

努力打球並溝通，持續不斷地這麼做，事情便會水到渠成。」

"This is the first year I've been on the same team," said Powell, a five-year
veteran who spent one season in Dallas, one season split between Indiana and
Golden State and one season with the Clippers before the Lakers picked him up
last season.

"That's better than having to learn everybody," Powell said. "Like last year,
I had to learn everybody, whether it was offense or defense. This year is
kind of like you know who is going to do what defensively."

「這是我第一次在同一支球隊待到第二年...T^T」第五年打NBA的他，第一年在小牛，第

二年在溜馬和勇士，第三年在快艇。

「這樣我不用重新適應每個人的球風，就像今年我已知道哪些人會在哪裡進攻&防守」

He has worked hard on improving his game. He already had a nice jumper, but
he has expanded his range. Powell made a three-pointer against the Grizzlies.

It was the second three-pointer he has made this season in three attempts.

"I got a call on that this summer," said Powell, pointing in the direction of
Kobe Bryant's locker. "I just put in a lot of time. Still now it ain't
perfect. But I feel confident when I shoot. I've just been working, man."

他不斷努力改進自身的比賽能力，他有不錯的跳投手感，但是他仍不斷拓展自己的投射

範圍。對灰熊的的三分球是他本季投進的第二球，他本季目前總共在三分線出手三次。

(所以是湖人現在的三分命中率王XD)

「我這個夏天接到他的電話(got a call，接到電話或收到通知)」Powell指著Kobe的置物

櫃說「所以我花了不少時間在這上面，雖然現在還不夠完美，但現在我跳投時已經較有信

心了，我也會不斷努力下去的，老哥！」
