Argentina Prevails in Dusseldorf

Jose Acasuso and Guillermo Canas proved to be a dominating force on the clay
courts of Dusseldorf, as Argentina defeated Russia to claim its second World
Team Championship.

Acasuso overcame Marat Safin, who retired when his lower back stiffened with
the Argentine leading 2-6, 6-3, 3-0. Canas then crushed Yevgeny Kafelnikov
6-4, 6-2 to seal Argentina's victory.
