節錄 PRIORITY TELECOM DUTCH OPEN, AMERSFOORT July 17, 2003 Defending Champion Chela Upset The Argentine loses to Spain's Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo Little-know Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo reached his career-first quarterfinal on the ATP circuit by upsetting No. 3 seed and defending champion Juan Ignacio Chela 6-1, 6-1 Thursday at the Priority Telecom Dutch Open. Before this week the 25-year-old Spaniard had won only one ATP level match since turning professional in 1998. That victory came against Hungarian Attila Savolt in Bucharest two years ago. His previous best effort this season was winning the Kosice challenger by defeating Tomas Zib in the final. WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID Chela: "I felt very uncomfortable on the court today. The conditions were very heavy with the rain. I kept on playing the balls short and wasn't able to use the court wisely. I wasn't expecting to play so badly. I had a very good first round win. Having won the title last year, I felt very confident on these courts. Unfortunately, the slow conditions favoured my opponent. I had never seen him play before and he surprised me. He has a great forehand." "When the top-seeds of the tournament were knocked out, I thought I had a good chance to reach the final again this year and defend the title." -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.csie.ntu.edu.tw) ◆ From: 61.230.96.111
