ATP MEDIA NOTES
ATP CEO Mark Miles will be in Chile Thursday, first meeting with Chilean Vice-
President Insulza at the Palacio de la Moneda in Santiago, then going on site
at the Club Naval de Campo Las Salinas to present the tournament with a
Waterford Crystal trophy to mark the 10th anniversary of the event. Mr. Miles
will host a press conference and also meet with players.
Players marked the 10th anniversary of the tournament Wednesday by planting 10
palm trees just outside the tournament site. Nicolas Massu, Gaston Gaudio and
Alberto Martin all planted trees.
ATP players played an exhibition football match Wednesday against a team from
the Chilean Navy and came away from the free-scoring game with a 6-4 win.
Fernando Vicente scored two goals. Others to play included Adrian Garcia,
Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo, Philip Harboe, Filippo Volandri and Emilio Sanchez
Vicario. Gaston Gaudio and Agustin Calleri watched from the sidelines.
