Kuerten: I'll play at Wimbledon
Gustavo Kuerten says he plans to play at Wimbledon next year - after
a two-year absence from the All England Club.
The Brazilian said: "I want to play the main tournaments in 2003, all
the Grand Slams, the Masters Series and some other minor tournaments."
His first tournament next year will be in Auckland, New Zealand, before
the first Grand Slam in Australia.
Kuerten, who reached the top of the ATP rankings in 2000, has not played
at Wimbledon for the last two years because of disagreements with the
tournament's organisers.
His best performance on the All England courts was in 1999, when he lost
in the quarter-finals against Andre Agassi.

[路透巴西聖保羅電]前世界頭號球員庫爾滕(古頓/庫爾頓)在連
續兩年缺席溫布爾登(溫布頓)錦標賽後，計劃2003年重返倫敦草
地球場。
庫爾滕曾於2月接受了臀部手術，且在今年餘下的賽事中發揮起
伏不定。在這位巴西球員周五發表的一份聲明中，他說期待參加
所有大滿貫賽事和大師(名人)系列賽，另外還會參加部分較小的
賽事。
「我也會參加溫布爾登錦標賽，」這位三度法國公開賽冠軍得主
說。
「我已經有兩年無法參加這項賽事，不論是否喜歡參加這項賽事
，它畢竟是大滿貫比賽，而且我想念在那兒的比賽。
「我不是草場專家，但是我也許會有不錯的表現。」
他在今年法國公開賽第四輪遭淘汰後，曾表示要休息使臀部傷勢
復原，因此第二度缺席溫布爾登賽。
**批評種子排名制度**
庫爾騰曾對此項賽事的種子排名制度表示不滿，並因此退出此項
賽事2001年的比賽。
溫布爾登賽的男子種子選手排名是根據他們在草場上的表現和能
力而定，而不是參照世界排名，這一制度激怒了擅打紅土球場的
選手們。
庫爾騰在溫布爾登的最佳戰績是在1999年躋身半準決賽，當時他
輸給了阿加西(阿加斯/阿格西)。(完)

呼，我只能說…Guga想通啦！
其實個人喜歡各種場地各有他不同的技術表現極致…自Guga出現後個人才愛上紅士
(Muster不錯， Courier、Agassi 的攻擊底線也不錯…但總比不上 Kuerten)
溫布頓也一樣…少了Rafter、Sampras、Becker、Aagassi等這種真正反映出草地特色的名將
技術…對我而言魅力少大大半。
其實Guga該是有潛能去發展其他場地打法的…能在溫布頓看到他也是不錯啦…至少衛視會
轉播，希望他明年再創佳績。
