Kuerten targets March return date
Triple French Open champion Gustavo Kuerten is hoping to return to action in Ma
rch after hip surgery.
The 28-year-old Brazilian has had a long-standing hip problem and underwent his
latest operation in September.
"I won't train with a ball until the end of January," said Kuerten, Roland Garr
os winner in 1997, 2000 and 2001.
"The tournaments at the start of 2005 are not part of my plans and I could prob
ably be playing again in March, taking it step-by-step."
A March return would see Kuerten back in time for the clay-court season.
