No. 3 seed Fernando Gonzalez blazed to a straight sets victory over Spain's David Sanchez, who just won his first title in Vina del Mar on Sunday. But during his evening doubles match, the Chilean was struck in the eye by a tennis ball and taken to the hospital . There was no word whether Gonzalez would be fit to play his second-round match later this week.
