Alanis Morissette Offers Make-Your-Own
Video Compilation CD-ROM
Which flavor of Alanis Morissette is your
favorite? The dancing, time-traveling Alanis
seen in the "So Pure" video? Or the up-close
and way personal Alanis in the clip for "Head
Over Feet?" Fans will now have a chance to
choose which video moments to preserve on
their very own Alanis video mix.
Morissette's label, Maverick Records, is
offering what they are calling a "Video Custom
Disc." Via the Web sites of Alanis herself,
(www.alanismorissette.com), Maverick
Records (www.maverickrc.com) or Tower
Records (www.towerrecords.com), fans can
create and buy their very own mixed disc of
Alanis videos; the four-video package goes for
$7.99, while five clips will run you a buck
more.
Fans will be able to decide which clips make
the cut as well as what order they appear in,
and buyers will even have the opportunity to
design the CD-ROM's artwork based on four
separate cover examples.
The Video Custom Disc isn't all that Alanis
(and the marketing team behind her) has in
store for fans. November 23 will see the
release of her recent "MTV Unplugged" special
on CD (see "Alanis Morissette To Release
LP From 'Unplugged' Session").
A version of "Thank U" recorded during the
special (and not included on the CD) will be
available as a full-length, secure download to
anyone who goes online to pre-order the album
or to purchase either of Morissette's last two
studio albums or the "Jagged Little Pill Live"
video.
For those in the market for new tunes from
Alanis, the artist whom director Kevin Smith
deemed fit to cast as "God" in his upcoming
film, "Dogma," her song "Still" will appear on
that movie's soundtrack (see "Morissette
Records Song For 'Dogma,' Talks About
Being God").
