Everything But the Girl gets 'Temperamental'
(Launch) - The arrival of the Internet Age has not been lost on Ben
Watt and Tracey Thorn during the three-year journey to their new
Everything But the Girl album "Temperamental." In a canny bit of Web
creativity, the duo will make "extensive audio" from all 10 new
tracks available Sept. 13 via an exclusive EBTG Web ring linked to
the album's official site, www.temperamental.co.uk., two weeks before
the album's official worldwide release in late September. The band
promises that fans will be able to jump from site to site and "hear
the whole album in one swoop."
Given the experiences Watt has had spinning house, freestyle and
drum-n-bass sets since the release of EBTG's acclaimed 1996
collection, "Walking Wounded," this electronic tease of the band's
ninth album is both enticing and thematically apropos. Snippets of
three tracks can currently be heard at the Atlantic Records site
www.atlantic-records.com. "Temperamental" will be in stores Sept. 28.
The duo's third Atlantic album, and ninth overall, includes guest
appearances by Metalheadz' J Majik, who contributes bass to "Blame"
and "Deep Dish."
