嗯... 這樣讓我稍微慶幸上次因為 I Believe In Love
給我的說服力還不太夠，所以沒在網路上訂專輯
今天在外面也看到這張專輯了，
不過我還是先買了 Eurythmics 的單曲
（不知道是台壓還是代理，歌蠻好聽的）

PEACE
1. Seventeen Again
Seventeen Again cleverly mirrors Eurythmics' past and future in
each other by using the chorus from Sweet Dreams (Are Made
of This).
"Sweet dreams are made of anything / that gets you on the
scene"
It starts off very mellow and nostalgic. Then out of nowhere the
song becomes edgy with cynicism, the "Sweet Dreams" bridge
comes in and the song changes to a different tune.
2. I Saved The World Today
I Saved the World Today spills over with hit quality, irony and
nerve. It sounds like an ironic lullaby. It's slow and smooth with
an uplifting chorus that sends shivers down your spine:
"Hey hey / I saved the world today / and everybody's happy
now /The bad things gone away"
"It's a beautiful song, but it contains something dark at the center"
Annie says about the song.
3. Beautiful Child
"You know it doesn't hurt / When you touch the ground / So
don't be concerned / My golden one / We're gonna reach the
sky / My beautiful child"
4. I Want It All
Quite an unusual song coming from Eurythmics. It might
resemble some of the raunchier tracks from Revenge. It starts
out almost punk or like The Who's "My Generation". The lyrics
are repetitive and the music too but with a few refined bits at the
choruses.
"I want it all / I want it all / Don't know what it is / but I wan't it
all".
5. Peace is Just a Word
Peace Is Just a Word is paradoxically a catchy upbeat song
about not being able to cope with the world. "It is not about
Kosovo but about inner peace. Which is something I have a hard
time reaching because I become so terrified and overwhelmed
by all sorts of things" Annie Lennox says.
It's an instant classic, sure to be released as a single at some
point. It starts out with a chilly synth and Annie almost
whispering
"Stop the world / I can't stand its turning round", then warms up
to end in a gorgeous finale.
6. Power to the Meek
Unbelievable rocker a la "I Need a Man" and "Missionary Man".
Short and catchy. "I'm just a girl with my head screwed on"
7. Forever
8. Anything But Strong
A sentimental, lush power ballad that sounds a bit like it came
from the album "Diva".
9. I've Tried Everything
10. True Love
11. Lifted
Lifted unites an elevating gospel feeling with a stylish Burt
Bacherach sound.
Released Oct 19 in USA and Oct 18 all other
countries
