Garbage tipped for Bond theme tune
Garbage look like the favourites to record the theme tune to the 19th James
Bond film, "The World Is Not Enough." The band have been approached by
the makers of the film and lawyers are understood to be set to finalise the
deal any day.
One source, who has heard a demo of the song without Garbage, told dotmusic:
"There are indepth conversations going on.ꀠIt's great song -
obviously in the style of John Barry - and everyone is up for it.
These things just take some sorting out."
Composer David Arnold is ultimately the person who would confirm the
artist.ꀠGarbage would be a neat fit, balancing Arnold's desire
for artistic credibility with the wish for an international name to
boost its audience.
Other names who it has earlier been suggested could follow in the steps of
previous Bond vocalists such as Shirley Bassey, Tina Turner
and Sheryl Crow include Texas鈠Sharleen Spiteri, Jamiroquai,
Robbie Williams, Mel C and Bj顤k. It is understood they have
been rejected.
