Hole to Work With Fatboy Slim?
Norman Cook AKA Fatboy Slim, of funk soul brother
"Rockafeller Skank" fame 霠says he's being courted to
produce the next Hole album, but he's not really keen on
the idea.
Cook told the U.K. music mag NME that he first
got chummy with Hole when they appeared
together at the Big Day Out festival in Australia.
Then, in June, he ran into them again at
England's Glastonbury Festival, where he says
they were "hinting about how it might be fun for
us to do something together in the future."
Hole later asked Cook to produce the follow-up to
its Celebrity Skin record, but he says he's not
likely to do an entire album with them. "At this
point I couldn't take three months off, and I'd go
bonkers stuck for that time in a studio with a
band," he says. "Much of the producer's job is to
stop the band killing each other, and I don't want
to be a diplomat. I'd maybe like to do one track
with them."
While he ponders diplomacy and working or not
working with Hole, Cook has another more
pressing production to worry about 霠he and his
fiance, BBC Radio One DJ Zoe Ball, are tying
the knot next month in what promises to be yet
another U.K. celebrity wedding brouhaha.
