Jewel Sets Sights On Christmas Album
It looks like Jewel will be hoping for little more Christmas cheer this
year.
After her "Spirit" album was one of the big hits of 1998's holiday
season, the folk-pop singer is planning another holiday offering for this
year. Jewel will spend the sweltering days of July working on a
Christmas album that is expected to hit stores near Thanksgiving. For
the collection, Jewel plans to tackle traditional holiday offerings like
"Silent Night."
Jewel's "Spirit" arrived on what came to be known as "Super
Tuesday" last November when new albums from Garth Brooks,
Mariah Carey, Method Man, The Offspring, Ice Cube, and Whitney
Houston all hit stores. "Spirit" debuted at number three on the
"Billboard" album chart and has gone on to sell more than 3 million
copies in the 30 weeks following its release.
