The Island Def Jam Music Group are pulling out
the big guns for rocker Melissa Etheridge's first new
album in nearly four years, entitled Breakdown.
Three different versions of the album will be made
available to consumers up to and on Oct. 5, beginning
with a limited-edition, pre-order only package containing
three extra bonus tracks and different artwork from the
standard version.
Available only up to the album's street date through
retail and Internet pre-ordering, the limited-edition version
of Breakdown will include three B-sides from the Breakdown
sessions, "Touch and Go," "Cherry Avenue,"
and "Beloved."
In edition to the limited-edition and standard versions of the
album, a 12-inch vinyl version of the disc will also be made
available on Oct. 5. That version will feature 10 separate art
cards and a 7-inch single featuring one track from the album
("Scarecrow") and a bonus B-side ("They Don't Know Me").
The first single from Breakdown will be "Angels
Would Fall," which hits the airwaves on Aug. 30. Etheridge
makes her directorial debut on the song's video.
Guests on the album include Wallflowers' keyboardist Rami Jaffee,
who contributes to eight tracks, including the single. Etheridge is
planning a fall tour in support of Breakdown, beginning on the
East Coast in mid-October.
Here is the track listing for Breakdown:
1. "Breakdown"
2. "Angels Would Fall"
3. "Stronger Than Me"
4. "Into the Dark"
5. "Enough of Me"
6. "Truth of the Heart"
7. "Mama I'm Strange"
