Alternative R&B songsmith Me'Shell N'degeocello is getting ready to
release her long-awaited follow-up to 1996's "Peace Beyond Passion,"
an album she has dubbed "Bitter."
Ndegeocello recorded "Bitter" in studios in New York and Los
Angeles with producer Craig Street, who has also handled records for
the likes of Chris Whitley, k.d. lang, and Chocolate Genius. In addition
to the original songs Me'Shell either wrote or shared writing credits on,
"Bitter" will also include a cover of Jimi Hendrix's classic tune, "May
This Be Love."
Aside from her new album (which is due out in late summer),
N'degeocello is set to play the main stage at this year's Lilith Fair
during its run up the East Coast from July 24 through August 8.
