NO DOUBT TO SPLIT?
NO DOUBT have hinted that they will split following
the release of their fourth album 'Return Of Saturn',
nme.com can reveal. Speaking at a press conference to
launch the album at the London Park Lane Hotel earlier
this afternoon, bassist Tony Kanal told nme.com:
"We've been going in this band for thirteen years now,
it's really hard to say how long we'll keep going on for.
Things change, priorities change in everyone's lives.
Adrian (Young, drums) just got married, you get to the
age of thirty and you start thinking about families and
stuff like that but as long as we have fun we'll be making
music and right now it still makes sense." No Doubt singer
Gwen Stefani added: "If you put so much energy into one thing,
other things in your life will suffer, and some of my
personal life might suffer sometimes. You realise that if you
step back after thirteen years, the amount of commitment
we've had to each other and to the band is just pretty
unbelievable. None of us up to this point have had any
children or been married." "Adrian just did it, and it's a
big deal, it's like suddenly you have another half.
But I think we're all looking forward, there's so much we
haven't done yet as far as all that part. It looks like
it is going to be fun!" 'Return Of Saturn' is the follow-up
to the 15 million selling 'Tragic Kingdom', and is released
through Polydor on April 10. It is preceded by a new single,
'Ex-Girlfriend' on March 13. The band are currently lining up
a European club tour to coincide with the release.
