Sarah McLachlan collaborates on cookbook
(Launch) - Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan is making
a foray into another entertainment medium - the Lilith Fair founder
is taking a stab at writing. McLachlan and chef Jaime Laurita, who
travels on the road with her, have collaborated on "Plenty: A
Collection of Sarah McLachlan's Favourite Recipes." Whether you're a
novice in the kitchen or a gourmet chef, the book takes you through
every step of the preparation process. "Plenty" includes recipes for
appetizers, entrees and desserts both simple and more intricate.
McLachlan contributes several of her own personal recipes including
"writer's block (oatmeal raisin) cookies" and chocolate cheesecake.
Pictures of the dishes, as well as candid photos of McLachlan at home
and on the road, are included in the book.
Laurita has cooked for several artists over the years including
Placido Domingo and Barenaked Ladies. While catering for the Rolling
Stones in 1997 Laurita got a call from McLachlan's people, looking
for a vegetarian chef. He's been with her ever since. "Plenty: A
Collection of Sarah McLachlan's Favourite Recipes" is in stores this
week. On Dec. 7, look for Laurita to prepare a dish from "Plenty" on
"The Rosie O'Donnell Show."
