Sheryl Crow To Perform With June Carter Cash
June 24, 1999, 2:00 pm PT
Sheryl Crow and June Carter Cash will hook up for the first time this Sunday
(June 27) for an acoustic set on Vin Scelsa’s Idiot’s Delight, a six-hour
radio show on New York rock station WNEW.
Cash and Crow came together after friends at their respective labels
approached each other with the idea. Both also appeared at TNT's recent
tribute concert to Cash's husband, country legend Johnny Cash (allstar,
April 7).
In addition to the WNEW appearance, Cash will hit up Live! With Regis and
Kathie Lee on Monday (June 28). She will also perform a five-song set at
the Virgin Megastore in Times Square on Tuesday (June 29) as well as perform
her husband’s 1963 No. 1 hit, "Ring of Fire" (which she co-wrote) on the
Late Show with David Letterman on Wednesday (June 30).
Cash is in New York promoting her latest album, Press On (Risk Records).
