Sheryl Crow To Release Live Album
She's the archetypical classic rock gal, and now
she's gonna make the archetypical classic rock
move, by releasing a live album.
It won't be just any live album, though: it'll
feature a number of Crow's pals, as it was
recorded at the September 14 "Sheryl Crow
And Friends Concert" in New York City's
Central Park (see "Stevie Nicks, Chrissie
Hynde To Join Sheryl Crow For Central
Park Show").
While the record might feature appearances by
all of Crow's big-name pals who showed up at
the concert -- namely, Sarah McLachlan, Eric
Clapton, the Dixie Chicks, Chrissie Hynde,
Keith Richards and Stevie Nicks -- whether or
not those artists' labels will allow their
appearances remains to be seen.
In fact, the process of getting the rights to all of
the performers may delay the album's release:
Crow's label wants it out by the Christmas
season, but the bartering process may cause it
to be pushed to next year.
Crow, who performed at the White House over
the weekend, will next perform at Neil Young's
annual acoustic Bridge School Benefit in San
Francisco, California this weekend (see "'N
Sync, Kravitz, Crow, Others Rock 'Concert
Of The Century' At White House" and
"Pearl Jam, Sheryl Crow, Billy Corgan,
Brian Wilson, More Sign On For Bridge
School Benefit").
