Well, it is not necessary to use boot disk if you forgot your root password
(only).
1, Please try 'linux -s' when it prompts 'LILO boot:'
2, You may (not sure, good luck here) get a 'bash#' prompt
3, Type 'passwd root' to assign root a new password
4, Type 'exit' when done
5, Login as 'root' with the new given password
6, Please remember your new password :)
Note: The procedrues were just tested on my Redhat5.2 (kernel 2.0.36)
system, it worked!
