訪問CLG.eu的AD Carry - Yellowpete 看有沒有大大想翻xD 原文:http://is.gd/IEO6Ve Interview with CLG.eu's AD carry, yellowpete Peter 'yellowpete' Wüppen is at the moment the AD Carry for the european CLG. He plays League of Legends for a long time and has been one of the best players not only in Solo Queue but also with the many teams he has been with. He is a great person always contributing with a great attitude for the overall environment of the team, very relaxed, calmed and motivated. In this interview there will be asked questions related with his social life since the most common questions related with League of Legends are all answered in his personal FAQ (http://tinyurl.com/6wqdx69 ) so it is not needed to ask the same questions everytime. Personally I had a great time interviewing Peter since he is a very interesting person and to myself a great example. Enjoy and learn! First of all, thanks a lot for giving this interview. Would you please present yourself to the readers? yellowpete: Hello, I'm yellowpete, a 22-year-old student from Hamburg, Germany and a passionate veteran player of LoL, currently playing as AD Carry for CLG.eu. Thanks for inviting me! To start, how were you introduced to League of Legends? yellowpete: A co-student and friend of mine introduced me, that was almost 2 and a half year ago. We used to casually play DotA before that. You play League of Legends since November 2009, don't you ever get bored from playing it since then? yellowpete: Not really, the sheer amount of possibilities the game offers as well as the frequent patches/champion releases always kept me interested. I often see things that I have never seen before, even after such a long time, and I'm pretty sure there is more to discover still. Also, the feeling to be able to compete with most of the players that play this game worldwide is a pretty good incentive to keep going as well. Very nice! How is your life aside from League of Legends? yellowpete: I can't complain, I am in the process of getting my Bachelor degree and everything is going fine as far as I can tell ;) Playing League of Legends, practicing with the team and streaming is very time consuming though, so I sometimes run into conflicts when I want to meet with friends or have other stuff to do. With all the studies and with your career coming up soon, do you think you will keep up with your eSports' career or is it something you will start to put aside? yellowpete: I think I will keep up being active in eSports for now mainly because the time window I have for that is far more limited than for anything else I might be doing in the future. This has to do with the popularity of LoL itself - once it begins to drop it will probably not be feasible for me anymore to keep playing it at this level and I don't think I would want to try and repeat the story for a different game afterwards. So I just want to enjoy this time as much as I can - it is obvious though that it is not going to last forever, but that is fine for me. It truly is lasting a lot and the popularity just keeps getting up! Now, off to your gaming life: You recently joined CLG.eu with this well-known line-up with many expectations. What are your personal goals regarding your team? yellowpete: The thing I hope most for is that the atmosphere within the team stays as relaxed and positive as it is now. Having gone through many teams myself and observing even more of them I can definitely tell that this is the most important aspect of having a good time while playing the game. Of course it does not stop there - I also hope for the most possible success within tournaments and such and I honestly think we have the potential to pull that off. As for myself, I am very happy I could join this team not only because of the aforementioned reasons but also because the popularity and other benefits that come with it actually justify spending that much time on it. I guess that everybody that watches your stream can indeed feel that relaxed environment you are talking about, honestly I hope it keeps that way and you succeed as deserved! How do you practice? Basically, how is your schedule? yellowpete: We try to arrange practice matches against good teams every evening - it is obvious that not everyone on the team has time every single day so we end up practicing roughly 4-5 times a week for a few hours in the evening, focusing a little harder when important tournaments or qualifiers are upcoming. Apart from that, everyone also plays a lot of Solo Queue just to keep up with mechanical skill and to practice champions. What teams would you say are at their best at the moment? yellowpete: That's a tough one, you can see top teams rock-paper-scissoring each other on a pretty regular basis and it is really hard to predict the outcome of games most of the time. That is by no means a bad thing, it keeps things very interesting during tournaments and such. When we are looking for scrims, we usually ask M5, TSM or SK first since we feel we can learn the most from them. Sadly aAa does not scrim a lot, since I would really like to play more against them. But there are a lot more strong teams out there than just these i mentioned. Also, there is little comparison between North-American and European teams outside of tournaments, so I cannot really judge what is going on across the pond. True, you have a great point of view! Well, now to your individual play: Do you think that it is easier to carry your team as AD carry not only in CLG.eu but also in Solo Queue? yellowpete: I personally always found AD carry to be a very impactful role in SoloQ. Maybe that is just because I have been playing it pretty much exclusively for a lot of time now, but I found myself making the difference between winning and losing in a lot of games on that role. As for team games, there is rarely something such as "carrying" that doesn't take around a heavy 5-man effort and strong teamplay even if one person ends up getting all the kills in the end. From an outsider's point of view it is nearly impossible to judge the contributions of a particular player to the team's success anyways. That is one of the reasons I strongly disagree with the concept of the "I carried XXX" T-shirts that are being given out on IEM events, for example. So you, as many top players see LoL essentially as a team game. What are your thoughts on Solo Queue? What changes do you think should be made? yellowpete: Honestly, I think Solo Queue is fine as it is. A lot of people argue that the rating system is flawed since ELO is not designed for team games, but as far as I can tell the system is pretty much doing its job - It is matching players of roughly the same skill level against each other. The only thing that might be debatable is to not allow duoqueueing if the partners are too far away from each other ELO-wise, since that can sometimes mess up the match for everyone. Soloqueue is a place to practice and compete in games where everyone cares. That is exactly what it should be. Maybe Riot should be a bit more strict with people not respecting the summoners's code though. I can remember times where the atmosphere in games was still way more friendly overall. Regarding that friendly aspect... You are always so calm, quiet and relaxed and I have never seen you raging, how can you keep up that good attitude that so many people envy in you? yellowpete: Apart from my personality as a whole, I think it also has to do with me not seeing SoloQ as much as a competetion and race for ELO as others. I am just confident that it does not matter whether i lose a few games since I will be able to make up for it in the long run anyhow, I will still have high quality games and even shorter queue times for the moment. This point of view takes a lot of pressure away which might be the cause of many players' rage about failing teammates and the like. The only thing that can sometimes make me upset is when I do unnecessary mistakes myself, knowing I could have easily done better. Especially in tournament games. Final question: Where do you see yourself in 10 years? yellowpete: I am bad at making plans, seriously. This question would be hard already if it was only 2 years, but I'll try anyways: eSports will be a thing of the past and a nice story to tell to future children. I'll be employed in a medium sized software company of some sort. In my free time, I'll be traveling with friends, playing volleyball, singing, and still playing video games casually. Also, there will be cake. Very nice, very nice, that made me laugh hard! Well, are there any last shoutouts you would like to say or anyone you would like to thank? yellowpete: Shoutout to every enjoyable person I have met in League since I started playing! Thanks to CLG and our sponsors for making this thing possible for me. Also, thanks to you for inviting me to this interview. I would like to thank Peter for the great interview and I really hope he has a great life in the future not only in gaming but also in his social life. Thank you! 頗長的一篇 原文將就著看吧 我好懶= =+ --
