Players of Epik Gamer and Cloud 9 have decided that it is best for them to go their separate ways in order to reach their goals. Both teams made their announcements after failing to qualify for the Season 3 Championship Series, which seems to be the main reason for the disbanding. The long journey of Cloud 9 The team now known as Cloud 9, started out back in early April 2012, as Orbit Gaming. The team acquired players from HOODSTOMPGRAVESGG. However, they seemed to be having a rough start, with 'LiNk' and 'Hoodstomp' leaving for CLG.Black a month after they had joined. 'YoDa' announced he was building a new roster, but since he could not succeed in filling a new one, he departed as well. It did look dark for them until May, when they picked up the roster from nFear Gaming and finally competed in their first event, the MLG Spring Championship, where they placed 7th. After this showing they improved a lot and subsequently took part in some smaller tournaments organized by Solomid and Leaguepedia, placing in a well-deserved 1st place. Later on they competed in the MLG Summer Championship, and finished 4th. A slight roster change happened in the beginning of season 3, with the addition of 'WildTurtle' as the new AD Carry, and 'Nientonsoh' moving over to AP Mid to take over ' nubbypoohbear's' now-vacant spot. On November 11th, Quantic Gaming picked up the roster of Orbit Gaming after a payment controversy which led to them playing at LoneStar Clash as Reddit Nation. Sadly, a month later the Quantic organization disbanded and left the 5 players on their own. They formed Team NomNom right after and kept playing together as a team. Another renaming would take place in January, and they would be known as Cloud 9 at the qualifiers for Season 3 Championship Series. Sadly, they announced their final disband right after they failed to qualify. 'Nientonsoh' gave a statement on Twitter the same day they disbanded to inform everyone about the sad news. Though it seems that they agreed it was the best to do. "Thus marks the end of Ex-Orbit, Redditnation, Ex-quantic, Nom-Nom, and finally cloud 9. It was a great experience and i will miss playing with all of them, but realistically we have all spent too much time with little to no reward and have decided to split ways All of us have made different decisions and are taking different paths, but to the fans, rest assured, I'm not done with league :)" Zach 'Nientonsoh' Malhas, AP Mid Former League of Legends line-up of Cloud 9: Gabriel 'Yazuki' Ng - Top Hai 'Hai' - Jungle Zach 'Nientonsoh' Malhas - AP Jason 'WildTurtle' Tran - AD Daerek 'LemonNation' Hart - Support ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The disbanding of EPIK Gamer Epik Gamer has existed for quite some time now. Everyone remembers them from their glory days in Season 1, where they were known as one of the top teams. They started out as HawkshotGG, but the name didn't last long and was changed within the month. However, in late September of 2010 the team disbanded. It took about 7 months before the team would reform under the name EPIK, with half the roster changed. They roared back into the spotlight. In their first month of existence they competed at Riot Season 1 NA Qualifiers and placed 2nd. There was no doubt that this was a strong team. They continued and placed 4th at Riot Season 1 Championship. They were favored by many and went far at each tournament. However, in March of 2012 a lot of changes happened to the roster. 'Dyrus' and 'Dan Dinh' left the team while 'Aphromoo' and 'Unstoppable' joined to replace them. Team SoloMid acquired Epik Gamer and they became TSM.evo. Season 2 might have been a bit hectic for them, but they still managed to place 2nd at several tournaments. Only a half year after TSM.evo formed, it unfortunately disbanded again in early September after 'Aphromoo' left and was replaced by 'DontMashMe'. Luckily for the fans of Epik Gamer, they decided to reform a few weeks before the Season 3 Championship Series qualifier with success and a new roster in mind. This new roster was not as successful as previous ones, as it just seemed to go downhill for them. It was announced on Facebook and Twitter that they disbanded again after they didn't did not qualify for the Season 3 Championship Series. So far there is no news regarding the professional future of any of the players. All that is known is that they will not be playing together anymore. "Well that was embarrassing sorry to disappoint everyone. Today is a dark day and the end of epik" Trevor J.
