What impact has Riot’s $5 million Season Two had on the growth of League of
Legends?
Riot 在第二季供出的五百萬鎂獎金給《英雄聯盟》的成長帶來了什麼影響？
Riot’s $5 million dollar Season Two took everyone by suprise. It made
everyone including sponsors realize how serious Riot was about promoting
League as an eSport. From a player and team pespective, it made everyone
realize that they could play League successfully as a career if they worked
hard enough.
Riot的五百萬鎂獎金一給出來大家都嚇到了
它讓所有人(包含贊助商)了解到Riot非常重視推廣LOL和電競
從一個玩家和職業隊伍成員的角度來看
這樣的動作讓我們相信 只要努力用力盡力投入英雄聯盟的電競 是可以以之維生的
What are your thoughts on the Finals filling a stadium at USC focusing on
just League of Legends (compared to the typical festival-type atmospheres
where multiple games share the spotlight)?
當決賽時整個USC場館填滿了關注LOL玩家之時
不同於一般類似祭典 有多種遊戲 分散玩家的目光 對此你有甚麼想法?
I think that the magnitude of the Season Two championships is simply a
testament to the growth of League of Legends over the past few years since
the inception of it’s competitive scene. A game that started out with
exclusively online events and small time LAN tournaments is now being played
in such grand stadiums, with so many live spectators it shows the brilliance
of League of Legends advancement as an eSport. Needless to say, everyone is
incredibly excited.
我認為S2的大規模只是簡單體現了LOL從成立之初至近幾年來的壯大
---起因於遊戲可體驗中的競技感
這個遊戲從一開始只有一些獨立舉辦的盃賽或是些小型的盃賽
走到現在可以登上那麼大的舞台 且擁有那麼多的現場觀眾
展現了LOL做為一電子競技聯賽中 傳奇般的輝煌進步
How would you like Riot to improve things with Season Three?
你希望RIOT在S3的時候可以有哪些改進?
As far as I’m concerned Riot has already gone above and beyond what other
publishers have done for their respective games. Currently not everyone can
play League of Legends full time competitively. If there was a way to give
players and teams a finacially stable envirnoment to play League of Legends I
believe that it would make a huge difference into how people view esports.
RIOT目前來說已經遠遠領先其他廠商所做的遊戲
然而 並非每個人都可以全職玩LOL
如果有方法可以讓這些玩家或是隊伍能夠在資金充裕的環境下來投入遊戲
我相信這可以對於其他人如何看待電競產業造成巨大影響
With Activision developing eSports features for Call of Duty: Black Ops II
and Microsoft readying Halo 4 for pro gaming. How many games can eSports
support?
隨著Activision和MS分別要把 "決勝時刻:黑色行動2" 和 "HALO 4" 投入職業電競之列
你認為現今的電競產業可以負荷多少遊戲?
As long as there are fans of a particular game, that game can become an
eSport – big or small.
只要那個遊戲有玩家 那個遊戲就可成為電競的一環 差別只是大或小
What are your thoughts on Dota 2 and the growing number of MOBAs that were
shown at E3 and are entering the market?
你對DOTA2的看法? 你對E3展上顯示出整個市場上增長的多人線上競技遊戲的看法?
DotA 2 caters to a different audience, just as Call of Duty and
Counter-Strike cater to different audiences. I’m happy to see that there is
interest in the genre of MOBA.

What separates League of Legends from this crowd?
那你認為LOL該如何在這些遊戲之中殺出重圍?
League of Legends is a very well balanced game and has refined it’s weak
points over the past 3 years. It’s constantly evolving and defining the MOBA
genre. Riot is very passionate about their game and it shows.
LOL是一個玩起來相當平衡的遊戲
而且在過去三年來 它一直針對自己的弱點予以修正
它持續進化且重新定義多人線上競技遊戲的模樣
RIOT對於他們自己開發的遊戲充滿著熱情 而我們都看見了
How do you see things evolving over the next five years?
你認為接下來的五年中會發生甚麼事?
As time progresses, I see gaming becoming more mainstream. I wouldn’t be
suprised if in some years from now eSports was broadcasted on television.
Furthermore, anything you can attribute to real sports will be attributed to
eSports.
隨著時間推移 玩遊戲將會變得更主流
如果有天電競賽事在電視上被轉播 我也不會覺得驚訝
此外 電競會變成像現在一般運動賽事一樣看待
Do you think there will be a day when StarCraft II and League of Legends fans
can all just get along?
你認為星海二與LOL的玩家群最終會融合嗎?
To each their own, I don’t think there is much animosity between both
communities. There will always be a vocal minority that dislike other eSports
because they are different then the games they are used to.
對於這兩者的玩家 我不認為其間有甚麼嫌隙
總是有人會因為不合胃口而批評某某電競遊戲
