Misia, Marcus Miller Unite for New 'Nobunaga's Ambition' Video Game Theme Song
The latest title of the award-winning simulation video game series Nobunaga's
Ambition will feature a song by Japan's R&B diva Misia written in
collaboration with respected American jazz composer and producer Marcus
Miller.
The new song "Unmei Loop (feat. Marcus Miller)" will appear both during the
game and as the ending theme song of Nobunaga's Ambition: Taishi -- Windows /
PlayStation 4/ Nintendo Switch -- scheduled to be released this winter.
"Unmei" means "destiny" in Japanese, and the lyrics of the song express the
world depicted in the history strategy game that takes place during the
warring states period of feudal Japan.
Misia describes it as a "very cool song" with a strong message: "Destiny is
yours to make, so believe in your soul."
Miller played bass on the smooth, jazz-funk track. "It was so cool to play
with Misia on her album," he says. "After I jammed with her at last year's
Blue Note festival, we promised that we would collaborate on some new music,
and now it's a reality. Hopefully there's more to come!"
"Unmei Loop (feat. Marcus Miller)" is available on Apple Music, iTunes and
other platforms, and is included on Misia's new mini-album, Misia Soul Jazz
Session, which was released July 26.
