Oh Roy Keane， He's a Demon
每個曼聯的球員幾乎都有律屬於他們自己的歌--
今天這首《Oh Roy Keane，He's a Demon》舊是唱給曼聯的隊長 -- Roy Keane 的歌。
在曼聯發行的歌曲《Sing Up For The Champions》中有這樣一段：
Oh Roy Keane, He's a demon
He wears a demon's hat
Coz when he saw Old Trafford He said "I fancy that"
The rest all tried to sign him
but he chose the Red and White
of world famous Man United Coz We're always dynamited
這段經典的旋律來自一首名為《My Old Man's A Dustman》的歌曲, 這首歌是英國音樂
傳奇人物 Lonnie Donegan 的不朽作品之一。
Sir Lonnie Donegan 被譽為英國搖滾音樂的奠基人。在上世紀50年代，他的音樂橫掃英
倫三島。他融合了民謠，爵士，福音和藍調，創造出一種新的音樂風格 -- Skiffle，他
自然成為了"The Legendary King of Skiffle"。 這也使他成為了英國第一位在音樂方面
的超級明星。
Lonnie 作品的感染力在於它的通俗化，而且注重即興發揮。樂隊使用一些簡陋怪異的樂
器（號稱有用掃帚柄做的單弦'Bass'）。這意味著任何人都可以組建自己的樂隊。於是
英國各地一下子冒出了許多同類樂隊，他們在一些節日和街頭聚會上表演。事實上，那
是衝擊英國的第一次大?參與的音樂文化浪潮。
在追趕即興演奏音樂潮流的年輕人中，有一隊來自利物浦 Quarry Bank 中學的學生，他
們自稱為"Quarrymen"樂隊的第一場演出是在 Woolton 的 St Peter 教堂喜慶日上。在
1957年7月6日，一名紈跨（玩cool）子弟在大庭廣眾之下自彈自唱了"Cumberland Gap"
和"Maggie May"等傳統歌曲，他的名字叫 John Lennon。
《My Old Man's A Dustman》這首歌改編自英國民間小調"My Old Man's A Fireman"。
它是 Lonnie 後期的作品，那時他在傳統音樂中融入了新穎的音樂元素。這首歌的歌詞
比較長，下面是被曼聯球迷採用的那段旋律的歌詞：
Oh my old man's a dustman,
He wears a dustman's hat,
He wears cor-blimey trousers
And he lives in a council flat.
He looks a proper nana
In his great big hobnail boots:
He's got such a job to pull them up
That he calls them daisy roots.
不少人翻唱過這首歌，但風格上沒什麼很大的突破，大同小異。不過有一個改編的版本
是《My Old Man's A Provo》，這首用來唱愛爾蘭共和軍的歌曲還是比較有意思，其中
的歌詞是：
Well my old man's a Provo with a beret and a gun
I haven't seen him lately, he's always on the run
He looks so really trendy in his shades and DM boots
Much better than those other dads in ties and shirts and suits.
有些巧合的是曼聯球迷也採用這個旋律來歌唱愛爾蘭人 Roy Keane。關於愛爾蘭的音樂和
celtic 文化，涉及的方面太多了。以後有機會再說吧……
