Carroll - 7 Great save after just four minutes to deny Olembe, and continued in
the same vein.
P. Neville - 7 Midfield, right back - it’s all the same to the rejuvenated Phil
, who was excellent again.
Fortune - 7 Quiet start but soon added to the potent United attacking mix with s
trong running and astute pass selection.
G. Neville - 7 Every game in that red shirt matters to him - and enjoyed a rare
old battle with Alan Smith.
O’Shea - 6 Few shaky moments in the first half, but signs of the old, more assu
red Sheasy returned as the game went on.
Fletcher - 8 Trundled along on the right for an hour, but looked different class
when he moved to the heart of midfield.
Butt - 8 A youthful midfield needed his experience, and he glued the whole thing
together superbly.
Djemba-Djemba - 7 Dodgy in first half, but by the end he was running the midfiel
d and deserved his lucky goal.
Richardson - 5 The lad has not had a sniff of the first team this season, and it
showed.
Bellion - 6 He looked lost and out of his depth for an hour, but his well-taken
goal breathed life into his game.
Forlan - 8 Slow start but was excellent in the second half, his movement and use
of the ball throwing Leeds into confusion.

Johnson (for Fletcher, 112) - 5 Given no real time to impress.
