Tim Howard:7 Almost nothing to deal with but was tidy,
and got vital touch when Cahill was left on his own to
prevent a goalscoring opportunity
Gary Neville:7 With little pressure on the United defence, he enjoyed
the chance to come forward and his cross was headed in
by Ronaldo for the first goal.
Wes Brown:7 Very little to do defensively but coped well when called
upon, and pushed up for set-pieces to create more problems
for Millwall.
Mikael Silvestre:8 Solid in defence and always a threat from free-kicks
and corners, almost scoring when Wise cleared his
header off the line.
John O'Shea:7 Had freedom to come forward and enjoyed a good tussle with
Ifill, getting the better of the winger and making some good
runs himself.
Cristiano Ronaldo:9 Superb display saw him pop up all over the place,
using pace and trickery, and deservedly scored.
Roy Keane:8 Almost set up an early goal and a fine save prevented him
scoring. Got increasingly forward and dominated midfield.
Darren Fletcher:8 Tried to push forward from midfield, getting plenty of
time on ball. Lost his temper in a scuffle with Wise
but otherwise accomplished.
Ryan Giggs:8 Started quietly but looked a real threat when running at
the Millwall defence and his markers. Won the penalty and
also set up United's third.
Paul Scholes:8 Made some good runs and part of an impressive attacking
display. Shooting let him down in first half but deserved
a goal.
Ruud van Nistelrooy:8 Had early chance when headed just wide but did
plenty of good work off the ball which was rewarded
with two second-half goals.
Substitutes
Roy Carroll (replaced Howard, 85 mins):
Brought on to sample the atmosphere and join in the celebrations.
Nicky Butt (replaced, Fletcher 85 mins):
Possibly his last appearance in a United shirt for the last five minutes.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (replaced Ronaldo, 85 mins):
A joyous end to an injury-hit season for the Norwegian.
