FIFA to announce Barthez decision on Friday
PARIS, Oct 30 (Reuters) - FIFA will announce a decision on the loan of
French goalkeeper Fabien Barthez from Manchester United to Olympique
Marseille on Friday, a spokesman for world soccer's governing body said.
FIFA's players' committee met in Zurich on Thursday and a decision has
been made, the spokesman added.
"The Barthez case has been dealt with today (Thursday). A decision has
been reached and it will be notified to the parties on Friday afternoon,"
the spokesman said.
Both clubs and the player agreed on the loan of the French international
goalkeeper until the end of the season, but the move requires FIFA's
go-ahead because it is taking place outside the legal transfer window.
