Saha So Happy
Louis Saha says he is the happiest man in England after Fulham
and United agreed in principle on a deal for the 25-year-old
French striker.
"I am so happy," Saha is quoted as saying. "I never thought this
move would happen but I am so pleased it has. I am the happiest
man in England.
"Old Trafford is a lucky ground for me. It's where I started in
the Premiershipand scored two goals.
"Fulham was a fantastic place for me, but I cannot wait for the
challenge of proving myself at the biggest club in the world."
The lure of Champions League football and the inevitable challenge
for honours at Old Trafford was too much to resist for Louis, who
has had his heart set on a move north for over a month.
"I am so happy. I cannot wait for the challenge of proving myself
at the biggest club in the world."
"I want to play in the Champions League and I want to start building
up a collection of medals. United was always the choice for me.
"I have been waiting for this move for more than a month. I knew this
was my last chance to sign for United. By June United could have
signed another striker."
Dubbed the Saha Saga, rumours of the transfer can be traced back to
the end of November, and now finally looking to have secured his dream
move, the Frenchman is ready to fight for a place in the side.
"In all the big clubs there is competition, I accept that. I just
want to play as many matches as possible and I am looking forward
to that."
Manchester United and Fulham both confirmed late on Sunday night that
the deal - with figures from £10.5m to £12m mooted in the press -
had provisionally been agreed.
