Man United eye Geremi swoop
Manchester United are lining up a contingency transfer for Real Madrid's Geremi
in case their Ronaldinho deal collapses.
United are currently involved in a tug-of-war with Barcelona for the Brazilian
World Cup winner, who will make a decision on his future when he returns from
the Confederations Cup, and Old Trafford officials also have an eye on Cameroon
international Geremi.
United sold David Beckham to Real Madrid for ?5million last week and the
England skipper's arrival at the Bernabeu means Geremi, who spent last season
on-loan at Middlesbrough, is increasingly unlikely to see any first team action.
'I am hoping there may be a deal to be done with Manchester United but we have
got a long way to go,' said Barry Silkman, Geremi's representative in England.
'United's priority is Ronaldinho and it is between them and Barcelona for his
signature.
'Until his future is decided, I don't think United are prepared to talk about
Geremi.'
