Cameroon international Eric Djemba Djemba is optimistic his move from Nantes to Manchester United will go ahead. The midfielder believes that the French club will agree to sell him - with the fee expected to be £3.5 million - so he can complete a dream move to Old Trafford. And Djemba Djemba said he had been in talks with United chief executive Peter Kenyon since the middle of May. The 22-year-old is under contract until 2007 but believes he will join United - and feels that, once at Old Trafford, he will secure a first-team spot. 'The discussions have gone well with Peter Kenyon. I think they started a month and a half ago,' he told Manchester United's official website. 'I haven't spoken to Sir Alex Ferguson so far but I heard that he came to watch me play and I didn't even know he was there. It will be a dream for me when the deal is done. I have a contract until 2007 at Nantes but I think Manchester United and Nantes will come to an agreement. 'To play for Manchester United will be amazing for me. I am young and I have potential and I want to prove to Manchester that I can do it.' Djemba Djemba is looking forward to joining the likes of Roy Keane, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Juan Sebastian Veron in the star-studded United midfield. 'The players they have already in midfield at Old Trafford are incredible, they are dream players. 'I don't think it's about me going there and starting in the first team straight away. The point of going there is to learn, look at how everyone behaves and improve. 'I don't think I am going there to take this or that player's place. But I believe in myself. And in the years to come I believe I will be a first team starter.'
