在2008/09賽季僅首發上陣2次，哈格裡夫斯在新賽季的復出給人的感覺就像一名新
簽的球員。
挫敗是唯一能形容他本賽季的詞語。
在曼聯處子賽季有精彩演出後，弗格森對他充滿期待，可惜傷病改變了一切。
因為跟腱和膝蓋手術，哈格裡夫斯錯過了本賽季的大部分比賽。這使得曼聯在對陣
四強球隊時，特別懷念他的活力和鏟球。
看看不敵利物浦的比賽，你就會驚訝地發現哈格裡夫斯能帶來多大的不同。
在2007年12月，他在安菲爾德有精彩演出，之後在主場對阿森納的比賽他又打進一
記精彩的任意球。
不過因為傷病，這一切都在本賽季成為歷史，但是有一樣可以肯定的是，哈格裡夫
斯將在2009/10賽季努力復出。

之前有消息稱，小歐文最快要明年1月才能復出。
但以下的新聞，則指出小歐文將在7月恢復訓練，且準備於10月復出。

OWEN Hargreaves will finally give his Manchester United boss Sir Alex
Ferguson good news when he returns from his south of France holiday.
It was reported the England midfielder would not be back in action until
January after knee surgery last November.
But Hargreaves will report with the rest of the United squad next month and
announce he is ready to return in October.
Hargreaves has made only 25 starts in two years at Old Trafford – and can't
wait to get back in the gym to step up his recovery work.
He said: "I'm going to come back stronger and hopefully add a couple of
years to my career.
"It's been so frustrating. As an athlete and being so competitive, it's
hard to watch when you normally would be out there.”
