曼聯不為Smith的加盟召開記者會
曼聯以700萬英鎊從利茲聯引進Alan Smith後，並不打算召開記者會。
之前人們預料曼聯將在週四或週五為Smith的加盟舉辦一個記者會，這是一向的慣例，不過
如今得到的消息卻是曼聯並不會召開任何的發佈會。
由於Sir Alex Ferguson的年度大假將從週五開始，所以Alan Smith極有可能將與曼聯下一
個引進的新人一起在媒體前展示，因此相信媒體方面只能在七月份才有機會與這名新紅魔
正面接觸。
曼聯只通過官方的MUTV發佈Smith加盟的新聞及訪問，Sir Alex Ferguson也通過了同樣的
管道表達了自己的歡迎及欣喜。
雖然曼聯之前也有過同時向媒體展示多名新引進的球員的安排，不過有傳聞指出，Ferguso
n由於必須在週四晚於BBC TV談及自己與他兒子參與球員轉會的內幕，所以處於壓力之下的
他取消了新聞發佈會。

United were expected to stage a routine press conference on Thursday or Friday
after tying up their first transfer of the close season, but have announced tha
t none is being planned.
With Sir Alex Ferguson starting his annual holiday on Friday it now seems unlik
ely Smith will appear until possibly another signing is made, and it could be J
uly before the media has the opportunity to speak directly to the former Leeds
United star.
United relied on its official sources to reveal news of the transfer after firs
t telling the Stock Exchange late on Wednesday afternoon, with Smith appearing
on MUTV and Sir Alex Ferguson declaring his delight through an official stateme
nt which was also published on the club's website.
It is not unusual for United to hold back press conferences before parading mor
e than one signing, but there is speculation that plans for this one may have b
een shelved because manager Ferguson is due to come under pressure on Thursday
night in a BBC TV investigative programme about transfer dealings involving his
former football agent son Jason.
