第三次回到Goodison Park 的 Man of the Match 魯尼很開心 ^^


Wayne Rooney was predictably delighted to score on his third return
to former club Everton as United opened their Premiersip season
with a solid win at Goodison Park.

Having been heavily involved in Ruud van Nistelrooy's superb opener,
Rooney pounced on Joseph Yobo's horrendous error
just seconds into the second half to end the contest.

After the game he received the man of the match award from Sky.
Here's what he had to say...


An Impressive Win
"We always knew it was going to be a tough game coming down to Everton.
 They're very physical and give you a tough game. Getting the goal
 in the first half helped us a lot and then another one
 early in the second half really killed the game off."


Importance Of His Goal
"The game still could have gone either way, and the second goal
 really killed them off. It was nice to get it so early in the second half."


Dream To Score At Goodison For United
"Every time I've come back I've wanted to score, and luckily
 the ball fell right in front of goal and I just tucked it away."


On His Toes For The Goal
"Joseph Yobo's a great player.
 I've worked with him so I know what his ability is.
 I was just ready to close David Weir down and luckily enough
 it just fell right into my path."


More Stick From The Home Fans
"I'm fine. I'm a professional footballer for Manchester United 
 and I've got no problem coming back here. Obviously the fans 
 give me a bit of stick but that's part and parcel of it. 
 I was an Everton player and I moved to Manchester United. 
 I'm ready to accept that and move on, I'm a United player now."


Chelsea's Overconfidence
"There's been a few comments from people that it's going to be
 a one-horse race and that's a load of rubbish really.
 I think we've got a great squad here. We had a good pre-season
 and now we've had a good start to the season too so hopefully
 we cam keep it going and have a real chance at the end of the season."


The World Cup
"It's a big tournament at the end of the season, the World Cup.
 I feel fit and sharp so hopefully I can keep doing it for United
 and then go into the World Cup."
