Rooney Demands Transfer

Everton's Wayne Rooney has handed in
a transfer request as Newcastle and Manchester United
fight out a ￡25m battle for his signature.
Manchester United are expected to make an increased bid on Friday after
Newcastle had a ￡23.5m offer rejected.
Everton insisted Rooney make his request to leave Goodison Park formal before
sanctioning his departure.
And reports on Merseyside are suggesting Rooney now favours Newcastle ahead of
an Old Trafford switch.
The 18-year-old England striker held talks with Goodison Park boss David Moyes
on Friday morning and then said:
"I hope Everton's fans will understand my decision."
Rooney added:
"This has been one of the hardest decisions of my life but I feel the time
is now right for me to move forward with my career.
"The Euros were a fantastic experience for me. It made me realise I could play
at the highest level.
"To do that I need to be with a club that is playing in Europe every year.
I hope the Everton fans can come to understand my decision and I hope the
transfer fee Everton Football Club receive will help the club move forward.
"The Everton fans have always been fantastic in their support of me. I hope
they respect my decision and I also hope that some day in the future I could
be welcomed back to watch the team I have supported since boyhood."
Everton manager David Moyes insisted Rooney will not be sold until his
near-￡30m price tag is met.
He said:
"We are disappointed, but at this time he is an Everton player and will remain
that until we receive what we think is his valuation.
"We have got a fee in mind but we won't be discussing what it is.
"Until we get our valuation there will be no movement. He's a player we value
really highly. We showed that by the effort we put into his contract offer."
Moyes also revealed that he expected to keep Rooney up to one week ago.
"I'm not sure this would have happened if Newcastle hadn't sold Jonathan
Woodgate," Moyes said.
"That's triggered the whole market off - Newcastle have some money and they
have come in with an offer, then Manchester United have come in too.
"But up to a week ago I thought it was more likely he would sign his contract
(at Everton)."
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson earlier revealed his desire to land Rooney and
believes he remains in pole position ahead of Newcastle.
But Newcastle remain confident, and it is understood that a move to St
James' Park appeals strongly to Rooney.
Ferguson said on Friday:
"It is as it was yesterday. David Gill (United's chief executive) is in
dialogue with (Everton chairman) Bill Kenwright."
Asked about the timescale of a move, Ferguson said:
"It only takes a second to say yes. The difficulty is getting the medicals
but at the moment it is not at the stage where we are talking about it.
"We are waiting for an agreement before doing anything else."
One club who will not be making a move is Chelsea, who could certainly afford
to join the auction if manager Jose Mourinho wished to.
But Mourinho said:
"Wayne Rooney is a good player. Newcastle and Manchester United are fighting
for him because they have the sport and economical potential and the club who
wins the fight will get a good player. That's normal.
"Maybe they do it because they are not happy enough with what they have but in
my case, I am more than happy with the strikers I have at the club."
Rooney scored four goals for England at Euro 2004 as he emerged as one of the
stars of the tournament before he suffered the foot injury in the quarter-final
to Portugal from which he is still recovering.
Ferguson added:
"Rooney's a fabulous player - he showed that at Euro 2004 - and is a young
player.
"He's not the finished article yet, but we've got experience of bringing young
players to the club and bringing them on."
It has been reported that Newcastle are willing to go as high as ￡28m to land
England's star of Euro 2004.
However, it is now thought Everton will accept ￡25m plus a player - with
Newcastle possibly prepared to let Shola Ameobi join the Toffees and Manchester
United maybe considering offering David Bellion.

還以為Roooney會接受續約待在Everton
不過隨著Newcastle把Woodgate賣掉
事情就開始轉變了
接下來在星期五的競價
Newcastle可能提出 25m + 阿梅奧比
曼聯可能提出 25m + 貝利昂

Everton的球迷論壇有種說法
其實是Rooney的經紀人Stretford暗中希望搓合他去Newcastle
Stretford想在這筆轉會中拿更多的費用(如果我沒解讀錯誤的話)
但是曼聯這邊堅持一定要在市場上揭露該筆金額
加上Stretford與Newcastle的關係比較好
所以有這種傳言從當地的媒體流出

在這筆轉會上
Moyes聲稱兩個United並沒有提到球員交換
英國媒體預估最後的成交價是25m英磅
但是Moyes繼續嘴硬說沒達到他要的價(27m~30m)絕對不放Rooney
而且他還撂下狠話
說Rooney如果現在離開了Everton
將會後悔一輩子
同時或許正在進行的是
Moyes現在在找Rooney的替代者了
大街小巷傳出的消息是
Southampton的Beattie
(Southampton的開價是8m 之前Villa與Charlton提出的6m均被拒絕)
繼Saha Giggs 舒麥克之後
Beckham現在也跳出來幫曼聯對Rooney招手

老實說我覺得Rooney實在是貴了
但是又不希望曼聯繼小羅 Robben之後
再度搞砸大手筆的轉會
而且對手又是現在內部不安份的Newcastle...

曼聯正式提出第二次報價
據Everton方面表示
此次報價高於Newcastle之前出的23.5m
以下節錄自Sky Sports:
As the latest bid exceeds the figure offered by Newcastle,
Ferguson's men are surely favourites to snap up the transfer-seeking striker,
contrary to some reports on Friday afternoon.
Of course, Newcastle may come back with an increased offer themselves,
but Ferguson seems determined not to lose out and the improved bid suggests
the Scot is not willing to contemplate losing out for the teenager.
Some Everton fans protested against the likely exit of their favourite son
but they could at least take some consolation from a two-goal match-winning
performance from young Leon Osman in the victory over West Brom.

魯胖對Everton處理他轉會事宜的態度感到很不滿意
"I am absolutely gutted at what is happening here.
It is clear that it's time for me to leave Everton," he said.
"I'm disappointed at some of the things that Everton have said,
especially considering that I know the truth."
Moyes說沒有他要的價錢30m
絕對不會讓魯胖就這麼走
(是真的這麼捨不得魯胖 or 頭腦不清以為一月魯胖價會更高)
另外傳出Everton不對曼聯第二次報價(25m)做出正面回應的原因是
有不具名的第三個球隊準備要出價
(But who knows?誰知道是真的有第三個球隊?
或只是Everton抓緊時間在哄抬價碼?)

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has indicated that
he does not expect any movement on the Wayne Rooney transfer saga
before Monday.
United moved in with a second bid on Saturday night,
which is higher than Newcastle's, according to Everton.
That was believed to be ￡23.5m for the 18-year-old England striker,
who has handed in a transfer request.
Speaking before the second bid was lodged, Ferguson told the Manchester-based
Sunday Pink:
"It is unlikely anything will be concluded before Monday.
"I definitely think it is unlikely. Everton are obviously going to try to
get as much as they can out of it, we have got a price and we will not
be going above that.
"Tomorrow is a Bank Holiday so medicals are going to be difficult
but you have a full day to do that.
"There is a 12 o'clock deadline on Tuesday so really
you have got a whole day to get the medical done.''
United chief executive David Gill is trying to hammer out a deal with
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright before the transfer window closes.
Ferguson added:
"We know where we are but that is David's job at the end of the day.
"He is the one who is negotiating, he and Bill Kenwright will be the ones
who decide the price not David Moyes [Everton manager] and me.
"We have both got our views and David [Moyes] in particular has
obviously got his views. It is very difficult.''
