van Nistelrooy Injury Blow

Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy
will miss the start of the season because of a hernia.
Van Nistelrooy will have an operation next week and is expected to
be out of action for a month.
The Dutch striker played for Holland in this summer's European championships,
scoring four goals.
Since moving to Old Trafford from PSV Eindhoven in a ￡19m deal in July 2001,
Van Nistelrooy has scored 116 goals in 145 appearances.
Van Nistelrooy will miss Sunday's Community Shield, the trip to Stamford Bridge
to face Chelsea on 15 August, the home game with Norwich on 21 August and
the Champions League third qualifying round at home to Dinamo Bucharest
three days later.
The 28-year-old is also out for the trip to Blackburn's Ewood Park on 28 August
and the game at Old Trafford against Everton two days later.
