Rio suffers injury blow

Rio Ferdinand could sit out next weekend's international break after
suffering a suspected broken toe against Watford.

The United centre-back ended the game with a heavy limp after suffering the
knock in the latter stages of the win.

Sir Alex Ferguson told MUTV: "Rio Ferdinand's got a broken toe so I don't
think he'll be going (away on international duty). 

"We'll send him for a scan in the morning, but it looks as if he's got a
broken toe."

Ferdinand had been named in Steve McCLaren's squad to face Andorra and
Macedonia on September 2 and 6 respectively, but he now looks set to sit
out the ties.

He is likely to join Gary Neville on the sidelines, leaving Ben Foster,
Wes Brown, Michael Carrick and Kieran Richardson as United's squad
representatives.
