LONDON (AFP) - Manchester United's veteran captain Roy Keane believes that he
is still more than a match for any midfielder in the English Premiership
despite recent injuries.

The Republic of Ireland international is with United on their US tour, which
begins with a friendly against Bayern Munich on Sunday night in Chicago.

And Keane, who turns 33 years next month, believes he is still a better player
than Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and Arsenal's Patrick Vieira even after
undergoing hip surgery.
雖然動過手術，將在三個月就要三十三歲的老大，依然相信他比傑拉德和維耶拉更棒。
"I ask the same question of myself every morning: 'Have I got something to
offer Manchester United?' At this moment in time the answer is always yes,"
Keane told The Sunday Times.

"Without a doubt I feel I can compete with players like Gerrard and Vieira.
When I feel I can't do that then I'll know.

"The manager (Sir Alex Ferguson) was very complimentary about Gerrard and there
's no doubt he is a very good player - but I still feel I am better than him
and that's not being big-headed.

比他棒，這就是今夏傑拉德最終沒有轉會曼聯的原因，因為曼聯已經有了我。

"You look at Gerrard last season and he didn't kick a ball for the first three
and a half months. Then you look at Vieira. I always ask questions of people in
certain big games and I just look at when Arsenal played against Chelsea in
the Champions League.

我經常覺得疑惑，像在歐冠兵工廠對切爾西這種大賽，在下半場我幾乎看不到任何球員。
"In the second half of that match at Highbury a lot of their players weren't
there to be seen."
He added: "People look at me alongside those two because they play in my
position. Well ... I fancy my chances."
