Paul Scholes has been ruled out until the end of January after scan results
showed he has suffered knee ligament damage.
The 32-year-old midfielder was given the news after visiting a specialist
on Monday. He is now scheduled to undergo surgery on Thursday to correct
the problem.
He sustained the injury after turning awkwardly in training the night before
United's Champions League Group F clash with Dynamo Kyiv.
The Salford-born star was immediately ruled out of the game, then sent for a
scan when the team returned to Manchester after the 4-2 victory. The initial
results proved inconclusive, so he was sent for another scan and consultation
with another specialist on Monday.
A club spokesperson told ManUtd.com: "We can confirm that Paul Scholes has
suffered a knee ligament injury. He will undergo an operation on Thursday
and will be out for approximately 12 weeks."

「經過進一步的檢查，我們確定斯科爾斯的膝傷很嚴重，他必須在本週四接受手術
治療，他有12周不能再參加比賽。」俱樂部發言人對外宣佈。
上週四，斯科爾斯在隨隊備戰和基輔迪那摩歐冠賽的訓練中意外受傷。一天後，在
接受第一次核磁共振檢查後，斯科爾斯的傷情沒有最終確診，在經過本週一的第二次檢
查後，俱樂部最終決定安排他接受手術治療。斯科爾斯的重傷拉長了曼聯的傷病名單，
除了他以外，卡裡克、加裡-內維爾、薩哈和埃弗拉都資飽受傷病困擾。
這個賽季，除了裡奧-費迪南德聯賽全勤外，斯科爾斯和C羅、吉格斯等六名球員的
出場數字都達到了10場，並在客場與樸茨茅斯的比賽中打進本賽季的第一粒聯賽進球。
目前，多賽一輪的曼聯和領跑的阿森納同積26分。本週六，曼聯將做客倫敦和阿森納進
行榜首大戰，缺少了斯科爾斯，曼聯的這場比賽難度注定有所提升。
