Scholes Signs Two-Year Extension
Manchester United are delighted to announce that Paul Scholes has signed
a two-year extension to his current contract.
The deal will keep Paul at the club until June 2009, by which time he will
be 34.
Sir Alex Ferguson said: "Paul has given us 16 great years of service, he's
30 years old and we hope his next four years are as good as his last four
years.
"He's deserved our loyalty because he's given us plenty back."
Scholes has made 465 appearances in a glittering career at Old Trafford,
notching 128 goals since his first-team debut against Port Vale in 1994.

Rio Pens New Deal
Manchester United are delighted to announce that Rio Ferdinand has signed
a new four-year contract.
The new deal will keep Rio at Old Trafford until June 2009, and comes hot
on the heels of Paul Scholes extending his own deal.
Speaking at his weekly press conference, Sir Alex Ferguson revealed his
joy at the deal, saying: "We're delighted, it's absolutely brilliant news."
The Scot also revealed that a trio of other United stars are set to follow
Ferdinand and Scholes' lead by signing new deals of their own.
He said: "It means now, with Darren Fletcher and John O'Shea agreeing deals,
and Ronaldo's very close to signing next week, that we have a team that can
stay together for four years now, and that's great news for us."

本週五，曼聯隊官方宣佈，球隊已經和本隊的主力前衛斯科爾斯成功續約，這名92級
的球員將和紅魔續約四年，在老特拉福德呆到至少2009年。
斯科爾斯本人與曼聯的合同還有兩年才到期，這次他提前續約，也說明曼聯對這名老
臣的狀態依然非常有信心。
曼聯隊主帥弗格森表示，「他在這裡度過了偉大的16年，我們希望他未來的四年能像
過去的四年一樣美好。我認為他值得得到這份新合同，因為他的忠誠，因為他給了我們那
麼多的貢獻」。
斯科爾斯代表曼聯隊在英超出場321次，射進87個進球，他在94年從青年隊提拔到了
曼聯一線隊，他幫助曼聯贏得了6次聯賽冠軍和3次足總杯。他曾66次代表英格蘭隊比賽，
射進14個進球，不過在2004年歐錦賽以後退出了國家隊。
本周早些時候，曼聯隊還成功的和球星費迪南德續約四年，對於兩名大將肯繼續為紅
魔奮鬥，弗格森非常高興，「這非常美妙，有些報紙在故意描寫裡奧是多麼的貪婪，事實
上這些報紙所寫的和事實相差了一百萬英里」。
「我們很高興他已經簽約，弗萊徹和奧謝也同意了續約的計劃，克裡斯蒂亞諾-羅納
爾多也接近簽訂新合同，我們依然有一支非常好的球隊，我們可以一起再奮鬥四年，對我
