弗格森爵士指裡奧費迪南德在停賽期表現異常理想。
該名 2900 萬鎊身價的後衛週一將會「服刑」期滿，弗格森透露在這 8 個月來，裡奧如何
度過這個停賽期。
他說：「裡奧非常出色，我實在不知還可以怎樣稱讚他。」
「當身邊隊友都有參與國際賽、歐錦賽或者冠軍杯時，他卻與這些賽事一一擦身而過。不
過他也努力和隊友們練習。」
「以一個 26 歲的球員來說，要承受的實在是太多了，不過他處理得非常好。」
「足總非常聰明，他們禁止了裡奧參與任何閉門友賽，這 8 個月的停賽真的很徹底，不過
裡奧確實適應，一切也將過去。」

Sir Alex Ferguson reckons Rio Ferdinand has coped with the heartbreak of his
eight-month drugs test ban 'phenomenally'.
The ￡29million defender will be available for selection again on Monday
September 20, and Sir Alex has been in awe of how Ferdinand has coped with his
enforced absence since January.
He said: “Rio’s been fantastic. I couldn’t have any more praise and
admiration for him.
“He has had to come in and train with guys who have played international
football, in the European Championships or the Champions League when he has
been missing it.
“For a lad of 26 that is a lot but he has handled it phenomenally well.
"In their wisdom, the FA have prevented him playing in closed-door matches, so
effectively it has been a nine-month ban. But Rio has come through it well.”
