Reds will have to fight for points - Fletch

Fletcher: We'll Have To Grind Out Results
Darren Fletcher acknowledges that United will have to find
a few more 1-0 victories to mount a title challenge,
as the Reds saw off Aston Villa on Saturday.
United created a plethora of chances against David O'Leary's side,
but only found the net once.
Fletcher, who made his third consecutive start in United's midfield
against Villa, says the Reds must keep their winning start
to the season going for as long as possible.
"We know that teams come to Old Trafford and try to frustrate us,"
he said after the match.
"We just have to keeping playing our passing game
and try not to be too direct. We know what we have to do,
but that doesn't always make it easy.
"We've hit the ground running this season and performed well.
We have ground out a 1-0 result against Aston Villa,
which gives us six points out of six. We have to keep that going.
"Fair play to Villa, they came here and put men behind the ball.
They made it difficult for us, but we knew that if we kept
creating chances eventually a breakthrough would come, and it did."
Van Nistelrooy got the all-important goal, and Fletcher says the Dutchman,
who has scored in all of United's first three fixtures, is vital to the team.
"Ruud's flying just now," he said. "His game is all about scoring goals,
and he is proving that this season."
Although Fletcher is widely considered a regular starter for the Reds,
the Scottish international won't rest on his laurels.
"I don't see myself as a regular, so there are still a few nerves
when the team-sheet is read out," he admits.
"I'm still learning and I am happy that I've started
in the last three games. I just hope that continues."

Ruud's Goals Are Imperative To United - Fletcher
Ruud van Nistelrooy can emulate the form that saw him break
the 30-goal barrier in his first three seasons with the club.
The Dutchman managed only 16 goals last season,
but that was owed to two lengthy spells on the sidelines.
A hernia operation meant he didn't start his season until mid-September,
while an Achilles injury kept him out from November until February.
However, despite not appearing to be at his prolific best,
Van Nistelrooy reached his season's total in just 25 starts.
He'd managed 12 goals in 14 games before the Achilles injury wrecked
his season.
Now, having scored in both United's opening games,
the hope is that the striker, whose goals are so vital to United,
is returning to his best form.
"We need Ruud in amongst the goalscorers again
because his goals are so important to the team," says Darren Fletcher.
"He's looked so sharp recently - in training,
in pre-season and now the season has started.
I don't see any reason why he won't be back to his best this season."
Sir Alex Ferguson regards van Nistelrooy as one of the finest finishers
in European football, and his horrendous bad luck with injuries
last season made a huge contribution to United scoring just 58 league goals
and their failure to find the net against AC Milan in Europe.
