Ferguson: Reds on the up

MANCHESTER United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes his side are "much
improved" from last season ahead of their first home game of the new
league campaign.
The Reds have looked sharp in their opening games against Debrecen
and Everton, and are determined not to lose ground in the title race
even at this early stage.
"It has been a cracking start, much improved from last year when we
lost our first Premiership game at Chelsea and simply never caught
up on them," Ferguson told the club's website.
Ferguson is also pleased that all the controversy of the close season
is now being overshadowed by results on the football pitch.
He added: "I am sure that all they (the Glazers) ask is for our massive
support to keep an open mind on their stewardship and give them a chance.
"Hopefully now we've put that controversy to bed, just as Rio Ferdinand
no longer has to run the gauntlet of those fans who considered he had
not signed his new contract quickly enough. That's all resolved now."
Another key United player, Cristiano Ronaldo, is also about to sign a
new deal and Ferguson added: "It's given our team a thread of continuity
that enables me to look to the future with great confidence."

現場球迷的配合。2002年的世界盃上我們感歎韓國的球迷精彩，他們在場邊的表現給全世
界都留下了難以磨滅的印象。國家隊如此，俱樂部隊也同樣需要鍾愛它的球迷；世界盃如
此，國內的聯賽也同樣需要球迷和他們手裡的橫幅與標語。
觀看了曼聯與德佈雷切尼冠軍聯賽比賽的球迷可能已經發現了，那個曾經在過去四個
賽季一直出現在曼聯主場寫有「STRETFORD END MUFC」的巨大橫幅不見了。該橫幅的擁有
者表示說他已經決定將那個巨大的橫幅丟棄，他們將不再展示那條橫幅。儘管如此，曼聯
俱樂部今天表示他們希望球迷能夠帶著他們的橫幅以及標語來觀看比賽並為球隊助威。
「我們對他們的決定感到失望，我們希望繼續看到那些富有想像力和震撼力的橫幅。
」曼聯俱樂部對外事部主管菲爾說道。「那些橫幅為我們的球館以及比賽增添了許多的色

REDS boss Sir Alex Ferguson insists he doesn't care about the outcome of
Sunday's clash between Arsenal and Chelsea.
Last season's champions and runners-up meet just two weeks into the
Premiership season, and the match is being seen in some quarters as
an indicator of where the trophy will end up this year.
But Ferguson says he's not interested in what happens at Stamford Bridge
on Sunday afternoon, and will be focusing purely on United's results instead.
"It is early in the season for such a big game but I don't really care
what happens on Sunday," he said.
"The most important thing is for us to do our jobs properly and make
sure we get the three points."
