傳奇隊長留守曼聯重現曙光 弗格森放言保住最信任球員

上週六的光明球場，因為一名因傷缺席的球員，主隊桑德蘭的主教練麥卡錫(前愛爾蘭
主帥)卻受到了客隊球迷的「熱情招呼」，曼聯隊長基恩在球隊獨一無二的地位可見一斑。
而令老特拉福德上下稍感欣慰的是，儘管蹠骨骨折的愛爾蘭人至少還有一個月才能傷癒復
出，但他在本賽季結束後繼續留守曼聯的可能卻重現曙光。
「在我看來，基恩並沒有說他一定要離開，他(在接受MUTV採訪時)所說的那個詞是『
可能』」，上週五的聯賽賽前新聞發佈會上，主教練弗格森第一次與媒體討論起基恩的話
題，暗示俱樂部願意與隊長續約，「在曼聯，基恩是一名深受愛戴的偉大球員，他完全有
可能在下個賽季繼續為曼聯效力。」
不過爵爺同時也表示，這並不意味著俱樂部會改變初衷立即與基恩展開續約談判。「
基恩已經34歲了，和任何一名30歲以上的球員一樣，俱樂部只會在適當的時間與他討論續
約的事情。這一點基恩和他的經紀人都很清楚，俱樂部CEO吉爾也早就與他們定好了開始
談判的時間。我們當然知道他的合同會在本賽季結束時到期，但我們也肯定不會現在就與
他續約。」
無論最終爵爺是否能夠成功留住自己最信任的球員，基恩在國際賽場的前途卻已經非
常明晰。就在上週五(愛爾蘭衝擊 世界盃決賽周資格失敗後兩天)，基恩通過愛爾蘭電視
台RTE發表了正式從國際賽場退役的聲明，並且同時為國家隊主帥凱爾提供了辯護。不過
，和基恩一樣，凱爾退出愛爾蘭國家隊已成定局。

Sir Alex Ferguson is optimistic that Roy Keane will still be at Manchester
United next season.
Keane suggested last month that he was likely to leave Old Trafford at
the end of the season when his current contract expires.
The Irishman said he would be surprised if he was to be offered a new
deal and that he felt the time was right for a new challenge.
However, Ferguson remains hopeful that Keane will extend his stay at United
"Roy is a player here, we admire him greatly and there is every chance
he will be here again next season. He has not said he will quit," Ferguson
told The Sun.
"We do have to start considering the age of our players.
"I've said to Roy, if you can give me 30 games this season, I'll be happy.
To get the best out of him, we need to spare him for certain games."
上個月老大暗示他現在的合約在今年夏天期滿後，他可能會離開曼聯。
但Fergie表示希望 Keane 下賽季還會留在曼聯。
因為老大沒說他要退休，所以只要還能踢就留下吧！
雖然年紀是個問題，但比賽經驗是無價之寶的！
Meanwhile, Ferguson revealed the club are finally close to agreeing a new
deal with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Both parties have been locked in talks over an extended contract since the
summer, but as yet Ronaldo has not put pen to paper on a new deal.
Ferguson insists that a deal is close to being sealed with just minor
details to be sorted.
"It is just small details we have to sort out," added Ferguson.
