"Am I trying to bring players in?" he said to Sky Sports News. "We do like a
squad for all eventualities and, with Roy Keane leaving, we're one short in
midfield."

"Alan Smith has done a good job. Darren Fletcher has started to come back to
his game again and John O'Shea has done quite well.

"I'm happy with the squad numbers right now. Yes, I'm finished [spending].
For today. There's no point discussing that [a new midfielder] as I think
it's old hat really.

"I'm not going to discuss that - it's old hat."

"Vidic is only doing endurance work," said Ferguson. "He's not played since
November 22, that was his last game.

"He's got a programme with the fitness coach in terms of doing almost like
pre-season work.

"It's difficult to say [when he will make his debut]. It depends on how he
comes through the next week or so, when we will have a better idea.

"He won't be involved on Sunday nor next Wednesday at Blackburn.

"The age of he and Evra are good ages, 24 years of age and they're
developing.

"The Evra deal is done. He gives us a different option in the left back
position as he is naturally left-footed, very quick and a good footballer. I
said some weeks ago that we lacked options as we cut the numbers quite
dramatically and had injuries with Gabriel Heinze, for a full year, and
Quinton Fortune's problem.

"So it's important to bring in a left-sided player. Evra was a front player
as a kid but then went left and, for the last three years, he's been playing
left back at Monaco."

然後說：

　　弗格森爵士已確認球隊完成了對法國國腳埃弗拉的收購。
　　
　　曼聯主帥今天告知官方網站，這名24歲的左後衛的轉會事宜已全部完成，只待他通過
俱樂部安排的體檢就將正式成為紅魔的一員。最早下週三他就將亮相參加客場對陣布萊克
本的聯賽杯半決賽首回合賽事。
　　

　　「交易已經完成，週一他將接受一個例行體檢」，弗爵爺誇獎道，「我們關注他很久
了，他每年都在進步。他剛出道時是個靈氣十足的中鋒，而後也踢過左邊鋒，過去三年在
摩納哥則是出任左後衛。自從海因策受傷後我們就著重考察他了。福瓊和海因策的傷勢讓
我們一籌莫展，所以買進一名左路選手很重要。埃弗拉是名左腳將，速度非常出眾，年齡
也很合適，他能讓我們在左後衛位置上多一種選擇。」
　
　
　　本周早些時候，塞黑國腳維季奇已經取得了工作證，完成了從莫斯科迪納摩到曼聯的
轉會，而埃弗拉則將成為成為一月轉會窗開放後曼聯購入的第二名球員。不過維季奇自從
去年11月以來都沒有參加過任何比賽，所以目前正接受球隊的特殊體能訓練。
　
　
　　弗格森坦言維季奇的出場可能要晚於埃弗拉：「現在他只進行耐力訓練，他正跟隨我
們的體能教練每天鍛煉，做些賽季前備戰期的功課。很難說什麼時候他就能做好準備出場
比賽，這取決於下周他的情況如何，他應該不會參加與博爾頓和布萊克本的兩場比賽。過
