Fergie Hoping For Definitive Scholes Diagnosis
Sir Alex Ferguson will send Paul Scholes to see another specialist next
week in a bid to find a cure for the midfielder's blurred vision.

The 31-year-old has not played since the Premiership visit to Birmingham
on 28 December because of the problem which has not yet eased.
It was initially thought that Scholes was suffering from blurred vision
as a result of concussion from a bang on the head. But the club believe
it has been brought on by something else, which has yet to be diagnosed.
"We all thought Scholesy must have banged his head but he can't remember
doing that," revealed Fergie at his weekly press conference.
"We sent him to see the best man in Manchester who's world-renowned,
but his vision is still blurred and there's not definitive medical
opinion about what the problem is.
"We're therefore going to send him to another specialist next week to
see if we can get a diagnosis which we can then treat; we're really
just guessing at the moment."
The United manager is hugely disappointed to be without his combative
midfielder who was getting back to his best after a slow start to the
season.
"It's a loss because he was starting to play really well," stated Fergie.
"All we can do is send him to see someone else because a second opinion
is always good.
"Knowing Scholesy, he'd probably go out and play [regardless], but you
can't take that chance.
"I'm not too worried because he's not in great pain and nothing has shown
up which would indicate something serious.
"But given how long it's gone on for now, we have to try and find a cure
for it and get him back playing."

明翰的比賽中，斯科爾斯和對手衝撞導致頭部受傷後，他的視力就變得模糊不清。那場比
賽之後，他立即被送往曼徹斯特當地的一位眼科專家處就診，但這位享譽世界的專家並未
發現斯科爾斯的病症所在。為了保險起見，弗格森表示在斯科爾斯的視力徹底恢復前，決
不貿然派他出場。
本月早些時候，弗格森曾經否認了斯科爾斯因眼部受囊腫壓迫而導致部分失明，但在
遲遲找不到妨礙視力的原因之後，曼聯俱樂部決定在本周安排斯科爾斯接受另一位專家的
診斷。弗格森透露說，那位來自曼徹斯特的眼科專家診斷後，並未發現斯科爾斯的眼部有
任何異樣，「初步檢查結果出來後，他的視力受阻原因仍不清楚，專家建議他到別處就診
。幸好斯科爾斯的眼睛並沒有劇烈疼痛，而目前尚無任何跡象表明問題非常嚴重。但問題
已經持續了幾個星期了，我們必須找到救治的辦法。」
