SIR Alex Ferguson is confident Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can cope with a midfield
role as the Reds come to terms with their injury crisis.
With John O'Shea, Paul Scholes and Alan Smith all injured, Solskjaer is
expected to play some part against Blackburn tonight in the Carling Cup
semi-final second leg.
And despite the Norwegian making his name as a clinical striker, Ferguson
believes he can prosper in the right-midfield role.
"The season he got his injury, he operated as a wide right player really,"
Ferguson told Sky Sports. "And a lot of the previous season too.
"When I see that, his ability to play wide right, we often think: 'Why did
we not try him there when he was younger?'
"But he's an incredible goalscorer so the temptation was never there for us,
you know."
